NEW DELHI: The Indian government has strongly objected to the death of an Indian national in a ceasefire violation by Pakistan on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian External Affairs Ministry has strongly objected to the ceasefire violations by sending a letter to the Pakistan High Commission.

It may be mentioned that a woman who was badly injured in Pakistan's firing in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir succumbed to injuries on Wednesday. Police sources confirmed this. Rahmi Bhat, a resident of Bagtore area near the Line of Control (LoC) in Gurez sector, was killed late Tuesday night when a mortar fired by Pakistani troops hit him.

"He was referred to Srinagar for treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries during treatment early Wednesday morning," the source said. Reports said two other civilians were also injured in the firing. The army foiled an infiltration bid on Tuesday and killed three militants in the military operation. The day-to-day ceasefire is violated by Pakistan, that is why the Government of India has issued a demarch to Pakistan.
