New Delhi: The Serum Institute of India (SII), Bharat Biotech and Pfizer will once again churn the team of experts appointed by the government on the application for approval of emergency use of the coronavirus vaccine. Bharat Biotech, which manufactures covaxine along with the Serum Institute and ICMR, is developing the vaccine 'Covishield' being developed by Oxford AstraZeneca on Wednesday before the panel. However, Pfizer asked for more time to present its data.

Once this panel of experts shows approval of the vaccine, the application will be sent to the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) for final approval. The Indian government wants to start a vaccination campaign from the beginning of this month. Today's meeting is also very important because this meeting is being held exactly one day before the dry run of the vaccination process in the whole country.

The country's Drug Controller General, Dr VG Somani, also made a positive comment about the vaccine on Thursday. Dr Somani had said, "Hopefully there will be something in our hands-on Happy New Year. I will only indicate this much now. " It is worth noting that the World Health Organization (WHO) has also given Emergency Approval to Pfizer-BioNotech's Corona Vaccine. This has been done so that the regulators of many countries can make it easier to approve the vaccine.
