Corona test reports of 5 players including Indian hockey team captain Manpreet Singh came positive. They were at the National Hockey Camp at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) National Sports Excellence Center in Bangalore. These players arrived at their residence for a camp with the team after the break. According to SAI's press release, 'SAI has made it mandatory for all players reporting to camp to have a rapid corona test done. All these players who tested positive had travelled together, so there is a possibility that the coronavirus would have spread from there while reaching Bangalore from their residence."

All the players, including Captain Manpreet, who reported at the camp, are living in seclusion as per the guidelines of the Health Ministry and they were set aside as a precautionary step to prevent the possibility of coronavirus. Apart from Manpreet, the Corona report of defender Surendra Kumar, Jaskaran Singh, drag-flicker Varun Kumar and goalkeeper Krishna B. Pathak came positive. After SAI's approval, all the players had joined the camp on August 4, since then all of them were staying in Quarantine for 2 weeks. During this time, the corona test of the players was done.

Manpreet said in the statement released by SAI, "I am in seclusion in the SAI campus and I am happy with the way the SAi officers handled the situation. I am happy that they have made the test mandatory for all players. Coronavirus will be detected at the right time from this step. I am fine and hope to recover soon".
