New Delhi: Indian team beat Uzbekistan 10-0 in their last pool match of the FIH series on Monday, having entered the semifinals. For India, Akashdeep three and Varun Kumar and Mandeep Singh scored two goals each. Amit Rohidas, Nilakanta Sharma, Gursahibjit Singh scored one goal each.

It was a complete contest

According to information obtained from sources, Akashdeep scored in the 11th, 26th and 53 minutes. Varun put the ball inside the net in the fourth and 22nd minutes. Mandeep opened his account in the 30th minute and scored his second goal in the last minute. Amit scored the 15th, Nilakanta 27th, Gursahibjit Singh in the 45 minutes.

With this win, team captain Manpreet Singh said, "We wanted to end the league round while in the first place in the pool as it will give us a chance to rest one day and prepare for the semi-finals. The entire competition was very impressive and the same Anand came to the extreme."
