4 matches including a bronze from the Indian Men's Hockey team, which won a historic medal at the Tokyo Olympics, are in the race for the 2021 most loved match award by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) this year.

FIH is providing hockey lovers with a chance to choose last year's most loved match through a survey. The Indian team defeated Germany 5-4 in Tokyo to clinch the bronze medal after 41 years. That match has also been nominated for the award.

In addition, 2 matches of the Indian Women's Team have also been nominated. World number two Australia won the Tokyo Olympic quarterfinals 1-0 and lost 3-4 to Britain in the bronze playoffs.  The junior hockey team is also in the race for the first match of the World Cup against France in which India lost 4-5. Voting is scheduled to end on January 10.
