This iconic dialogue from Bollywood's superhit film 'Sholay' - Gabbar - 'Are O Samba, Kitna Inaam Rakhi  Hai Sarkar Ne Hum Par,' Even today, people are on their tongues. Referring to Samba, this dialogue of 'Gabbar' has been recorded forever in the history of Indian film industry. But do you know why Sambha's 2 minute character was added to the movie? This was revealed by Javed Akhtar on the sets of music reality show 'Indian Idol Season 12'.

Javed Akhtar is all set to be a part of the guest show in the upcoming episode of Indian Idol 12. The episode has been shot and Sony TV is sharing some promos related to the episode on its social media handle. Today, a promo was shared on Friday in which Javed Akhtar narrated the interesting story related to the movie Sholay as to why Sambha's role, which uttered only three words in the movie, was made a part of the film.

Javed Akhtar revealed that when dialogues were being written for Gabbar, he wanted to add a character to it to tell him the reward placed by the police on Gabbar. Javed Akhtar said, "I often find people who speak- Hey Saheb, what dialogues did you write in Sholay?" Making fun of himself, he said, "Oh, sambha... Kitne Aadmi the,' these are some dialogues that should be appreciated. Talking about Sambha's role, Javed Akhtar said that there was no man named Sambha in the film at the screenplay level. Now, 'When I was writing a dialogue for Gabbar, I thought that if a man said that the government had placed a reward of 50,000 rupees on me, it would have been a levity. It doesn't look good that he speaks himself. Now, the one who is a big man has some people with him. Those who speak for him. Just because of this, he put the dialogue in that scene that hey o Sambha, how much reward the government has placed on us... So sambha will tell you how much reward you have kept, why should you speak for yourself?'

Javed Akhtar further said that now those who played Sambha in the movie meant That Mac Mohan had only three word dialogues in his entire movie - the entire fifty thousand. That's all, he didn't say anything. So while writing the dialogue for only 50,000, it became a character and see it became a hit.
