Indian Idol 12, the country's largest and most famous TV singing reality show, has been in controversy for many reasons. There was not so much controversy about any singing reality show before. This time the show is getting trolled from contestants to judges. The biggest surprise is when the special guest on the show is also being trolled this time. The series started with Kishore Kumar's son and legendary singer Amit Kumar and has now reached out to Senior Bollywood tourist Javed Akhtar. She was trolled for praising the singing of show contestant Shanmukhapriya.
Javed Akhtar recently arrived as a special guest on the stage of Indian Idol 12. This episode was a tribute by the show and the contestants performed on the songs he wrote. Javed Akhtar was delighted when singer Shanmukhapriya, who is already facing criticism from music lovers for her singing style, sang the song written by Javed Akhtar. He praised Shanmukhapriya and said, "I have seen many of your songs on YouTube and today I see you performing live. Continue to work as you are working. Your future is very bright."

Javed Akhtar even praised Shanmukhapriya's song but the fans did not like it. Social media users not only trolled Shanmukhapriya for her singing style but also slammed Javed Akhtar. A man shared a meme which read '50 rupees cut off for shouting in song' another wrote 'Shanmukhapriya only shouts. She doesn't even have voice quality. My interest was lost from Indian Idol 2021.'Â
