Indian Lockdown released on OTT platform. It stars Prateik Babbar, Aahana Kumra and Shweta Basu Prasad among others.  It follows the tragic events that took place after the Indian government declared a complete lockdown for 21 days during the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. As it did not release on the platform Hit and flop is not considered criteria but on the basis of views we can analyze it.

The film got 2.1 Million views in its opening weekend on Zee 5 in India and was outside of top 5 OTT shows and movies in India. Anything which opens on OTT gets at least 2 Million views so this is the least view criterion that ranks as a flop. Earlier Madhur Bhandarkar’s previous movie Babli bouncer got a pretty good 5.5 Million views so this is a disappointment but that movie was picked by Hotstar so it had a higher chance of success as that is the most popular OTT in India.

Considering the view you can consider India Lockdown  as a Flop with 21 Lakhs (2.1 Million) views.  It needed to reach more than  40 Lakh viewers in its opening weekend in India at Zee 5 to be called an Average and should cross more than 70 lakh Views to be called a 

Speaking about Indian Lockdown it follows  people from different strata of society being affected by the lockdown news. The almost two-and-a-half-minute trailer opens with people from various backgrounds – a pilot, a sex worker, a daily-wage laborer, a house worker and mother, among others – trying to keep up with Covid-19 lockdown updates. It starts with Ahana, a pilot, distracts herself by flirting with a neighbor,  a migrant laborer is hopeful his wife, a house worker (Sai), and him will resume work ‘soon’ as the lockdown will end in '21 days’ but the lockdown continues and they must now make choices to either give up, or survive at all costs. 

A sex worker is seen finding new ways to earn money as physical contact is restricted due to Covid-19. Prateik, Sai, and their children walk hundreds of kilometers to them. The two-minute trailer showed the lives of five people from different backgrounds and different professions fighting for survival in covid time.

The Indian Lockdown is produced by Dr Jayantilal Gada of PEN Studios, Madhur Bhandarkar’s Bhandarkar Entertainment, and Pranav Jain’s P J Motions Pictures, ‘India Lockdown’ is the first Indian feature film on the COVID pandemic and stars Shweta Basu Prasad, Aahana Kumra, Prateik Babbar, Sai Tamhankar, and Prakash Belawadi in key roles. ‘India Lockdown’ premieres on 2nd December.
