The Indian Men's Compound Archery team has bounced back after trailing in the final to beat France by 2 points to clinch a consecutive gold medal at the World Cup stage. It got to see a repeat of the final of the first leg of the World Cup. Reports say that the trio of Abhishek Verma, Aman Saini and Rajat Chauhan were seen trailing the sixth-seeded opponent in the first two rounds.  

But then came the news that in the third round, the Indian trio performed brilliantly, defeating Adrian Gontier, Jean-Philippe Baloch and Kentin Barür of France 232-230 to win the gold medal in the second leg of the World Cup.

According to the information received from the reports, in the last World Cup final held in Antalya in April, the same Indian trio had defeated France by one point. Indian star compound archer Verma had then won his second medal. She along with Avneet Kaur had also won the bronze medal in the mixed team event by defeating the higher-ranked Pair of Amirkan Hane and Aise Bera Suzer of Turkey 156-155. This was her second bronze medal for Avneet Kaur, who had earlier won the team bronze medal in the women's event.
