Snowfall and rain likely in J&K, Met department predicts forecast

New Delhi: The Met department has predicted rain and snowfall in Kashmir later this week. According to him, back to back rain and snowfall may occur in the upper reaches of Kashmir in the month of March this year. Sonam Lotus, regional director, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), said that the weather will be open today i.e. However, light rain is expected at different places in Kashmir in the evening.

In the capital Srinagar, wednesday night's temperature was recorded at a maximum of 4.2 degrees Celsius, while Jammu recorded 15.5 degrees. Gulmarg was the coldest place in Kashmir as the temperature was recorded at 1.5 degree Celsius last night. The Met department said, hailstones are likely to fall in Madhya Pradesh from March 18 to 19. In the coming five days, there may be strong wind and rain at several places in the state.

According to the Met department, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 32.1 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal on Wednesday, and the minimum temperature was recorded at 17.2 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal. The humidity levels in the air were 42 to 88%. Delhi's sports complex was the hottest with 34 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was also topped with 21.9 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the maximum temperature in Pritampura area was 33.1 and minimum 21.2 degrees Celsius.
