Chandigarh: Amid the ongoing farmers' agitation against the new agricultural laws brought by the central government, the Indian National Lok Dal said that it would go ahead with the upcoming corporation elections in Haryana against the alleged 'atrocities' imposed on farmers by the central and state governments. Boycott the elections of municipal bodies in Haryana are on 27 December in support of farmers.
In a statement issued here, veteran INLD leader and party MLA Abhay Singh Chautala alleged that BJP ministers are rejecting the protesting farmers as "terrorists and traitors". Chautala said that his party has decided to boycott the corporation elections against the atrocities on farmers by the central and state governments. He said that the way the BJP government at the Center and the state is ignoring the farmers, it is very sad and condemnable.
INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala said that the BJP-JJP government in the state is holding elections at a time when farmers have been agitating near Delhi's borders for the last 19 days, including the cancellation of agricultural laws. There will be elections for the seats of Mayor and Councilor of Ambala, Panchkula and Sonipat municipal corporations in Haryana. Voting will be held for the chairman and members of Rewari Municipal Council, Sampla in Rohtak, Dharuhera in Rewari, Uklanamandi in Hisar district.
