Indian Navy deploys to evacuate 800 stranded tourists at Havelock Island : Andaman & Nicobar

Four ships of Indian Navy sailed to evacuate eight hundred stranded tourists in Havelock Island.

The sudden initiation took place to rescue the tourists at Havelock Island, official said.

The operation took place on the request of disaster management of Andaman and Nicobar.They said that "cyclon storm” can strike anytime from the capital that is Port Blair.There is great depression in a sea so they decided not to take a chance.

Due to heavy rainfall and harsh weather, tourists are facing problem to reach their ships. They are not sure about the storm but, there may be chances of occurrence.

Navy spokesperson DK Sharma said, “ships departed 351 hr. before and Indian Navy sent four ships -INS Bitra , Bangaram,Kumbhir and LCU 38 - for evacuation.”
