New Delhi: The Chinese fishing boat that capsized earlier this week with 39 crew members aboard in the Indian Ocean has been found, according to the Indian navy on Friday.
The Penglai Jinglu Fishery Co. Ltd. boat "Lupeng Yuanyu 028," which is based in Shandong province and is used for deep-sea fishing, capsized early on Tuesday.
The capsized fishing vessel was discovered on May 18 by the Indian Navy's P8I aircraft, according to a statement. According to the report, the Chinese navy was informed of the location of the capsized boat. It continued, "Subsequently, P8I also sighted the fishing vessel's life-raft and guided fishing vessel Lu Peng Yuan Yu 017 towards it."

The Indian navy is prepared to help with any further search and rescue operations, it was added.
The 39 passengers and crew members—17 Chinese, 17 Indonesians, and 5 Filipinos—had been listed as missing by Chinese state media.
They were not mentioned in the Indian Navy statement.

The search for survivors had been ordered by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The accident had been reported to the appropriate nations by China's maritime search and rescue centre, and the foreign ministry had directed its embassies in Australia, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Indonesia, the Philippines, and other nations to coordinate search and rescue efforts
