New Delhi: India will complete 100 years of the Olympics in Tokyo next year. To make this occasion special, an Olympic hospitality house will be built in Tokyo for the first time. The Indian Olympic Association and the JSW Group have set up the facility. Many countries participating in the Olympics make their hospitality during the Games but this will be the first time for India. Indian culture and heritage will be shown in it. Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju unveiled the logo of India House in the presence of Indian Olympic Association President Narinder Batra and General Secretary Rajiv Mehta.
Rijiju said, 'India House is a great idea for the Olympics in Tokyo. We need a team that can make champions. We have to give the right atmosphere to the players for the Olympics. India House will offer a glimpse of India at the Tokyo Games. India House will open in July next year and will be constructed in an area of 2,200 square meters near the sports complex located in the sports village and Arik area. IOA Secretary General Rajiv Mehta was given the task of finding a place for India House. Mehta said that India House would be extremely special for India as India would complete 100 years of its participation in the Olympic Games next year. India played in the 1920 Antwerp Olympics for the first time.
