NEW DELHI: On March 9, Indian Railway cancelled more than 240 trains for operational, maintenance, and weather-related reasons. A total of 87 trains have been partially cancelled today in addition to this.
Every week, Indian Railway suspends train service on select routes while performing engineering work due to safety concerns.
passengers are advised to check the status of trains on Indian Railway's official website at indianrail.gov.in/mntes. Using the portal, they can view the complete list of completely or partially cancelled trains.

Train tickets booked through unlicensed agents may be released without a reimbursement, the Railways said. The passengers were requested to enter their mobile numbers correctly in order to receive timely notifications about their scheduled trip and ticket purchases.
In the meantime, Railways has also disclosed that it will operate 196 special trains in order to prioritise the Holi celebration throng and offer connectivity between various locations in key cities.
On lines like Delhi-Patna, Delhi-Bhagalpur, Delhi-Muzaffarpur, Delhi-Saharsa, Gorakhpur-Mumbai, Kolkata-Puri, Guwahati-Ranchi, New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Jaipur-Bandra Terminus, and Pune-Danapur, the ministry has planned special trains to connect important cities around the nation.
