Indian Railways sets record in Corona period, earns Rs 11,186 crore in a month

New Delhi: Whether it is oxygen express, or transporting migrant workers to their homes during lockdown, Indian Railway is working in mission mode even during the crisis period of corona epidemic. Now The Indian Railways has set another big record. In fact, the Railways has set the record for the highest ever freight movement in 10 consecutive months from September 2020 to June 2021. The Ministry of Railways itself has informed in this regard.

 

Railways issued a statement saying that even after corona challenges, Indian Railways has maintained the boom in income and freight movement in June 2021. The statement said indian railways transported 112.65 million tonnes of goods in June 2021, an increase of 11.19 percent over June 2019 (101.31 million tonnes). While there was no corona-like disaster in 2019. On the other hand, the transportation was 20.37 percent higher than in June 2020 (93.59 million tonnes).

According to a statement issued by the Railways, freight revenue in June 2021 was Rs 11,186.81 crore. This is 26.7 percent higher than last year's June 2020. 8,829.68 crore in June 2020 as compared to Rs 10,707.53 crore in June 2019. Railways is offering a variety of discounts to promote freight movement. At the same time, the current network of railways has also  included the goods trains. It is because of these reasons that the movement of freight has doubled in the last 19 months.
