New Delhi: Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is going to restart the e-catering facility due to the corona epidemic. Indian Railways has allowed IRCTC for the same. However, at present, the E-Catering facility of railways will be resumed at select stations.
Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has informed that railways are going to start e-catering service in trains again to facilitate passengers. Passengers will now be able to get food on booking orders while traveling on trains. E-catering will be introduced once again at some railway stations in the country. The service was discontinued in view of the safety of passengers from corona infections. Travelers can order food of their choice online through IRCTC e-catering facility. At the time of order, passengers will also get information about how long and at which station your meal will be available. This will not require the passenger to go anywhere but will be delivered to the seat itself.
Guidelines have also been prescribed for delivery staff keeping in view the safety. Which is mandatory to follow. This includes taking orders only after washing hands, using the 'Arogya Sethu' app by delivery workers, protective face masks, and sanitization.
