New Delhi: The Modi government, in its second term, is taking many steps to protect the environment. Ban on plastic is part of this. The railway is also going to take big steps in the interest of the environment. Railways will make 150 railway stations in the country green before 2020. Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi has instructed the railway authorities to complete this work in this regard by 150th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on 2 October next year.

The Minister of State for Railways was speaking at a program organized for the signing of an MoU between the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Ministry of Railways. Angadi said that the Railways have a special emphasis on increasing energy efficiency activities. The Minister of State said that on this occasion, I call upon the CII and the Railways to join together in the campaign to convert 150 railway stations of the country into green stations so that we celebrate Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary next year with great pride. Can. ' He said that at present there are 12 railway stations, five production units, 44 workshops, and 11 buildings in the country are 'green certified'. He said that Railways has always been involved in the campaign to promote the environment. The Railways had recently announced a plastic ban from October 2.
