The Northeast Railway management entrusted the work of trimming shop to the women was amazing. The women changed the picture of the mechanical factory itself. The goal which was not achieved with men, now more than that is being achieved. The factory, which is struggling to save credibility due to these 34 women working in the factory trimming shop, has got strong support. The qualitative growth recorded in the production has served to inspire other colleagues.

The seats of the general coaches of the train are ready in the trimming shop. A year ago, even 200 seats were not available on time, today these women workers are preparing about 300 seats with quality every day and on time. Till December 2018, both men and women worked jointly in the trimming shop. Quality problems often arose, not just productivity. Seats often had to be rebuilt in order to remove flaws. The factory management took a big step and handed over the shop to the women in January 2019 if the quality did not improve even after lakhs of efforts. If the management expressed confidence, they also proved it.

Within a year women employees have changed the appearance of the shop. When the work environment was ready, the quality increased automatically. Now seats do not have to be rebuilt. Supervisor Raymond Paul says that now there is no problem in putting seats in bogies on time. Seats are also getting better prepared. Here, women who get jobs on compassionate grounds are kept on a priority basis.
