New Delhi: Indian Railways' earnings have reached the lowest level in the last 10 years. In fact, a few days ago, a report of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) was tabled in Parliament, according to which the operating ratio of the railways in FY 2017-18 was the worst in 10 years. It had reached Rs 98.44. That is, Railways had to spend Rs 98.44 to earn an income of 1-2 rupees.

Your salary may increase soon, Government is planning for this work

Now to reduce the loss of railways, the CAG has made several suggestions which are as follows. Tickets should be made compulsory for children above three years of age. The Department of Parliamentary Affairs raised 75 percent of the exemptions given to MPs and former MPs. There is a 50 percent concession instead of completely free ticket booking on Privilege Pass. Explain that all types of concessions in the fare of Reserve tickets of Indian Railways are only 11.45 percent of the total passenger ticket revenue.

Less time left to present budget, still two important posts left

The largest share (52.5 percent) of these concessions, the railways themselves loot their employees by giving them the privilege pass. Railway personnel and their families get a 100% discount on one to 6 trips in a year on Privilege Pass. More than that, there is a 66.67 percent discount on fares for this facility. By the year 2015-18, the railway has suffered a loss of Rs 2759.25 crore due to Privilege Pass.

These Government schemes can prove to be helpful in education and marriage of daughters
