Indian railways promote new ideas for Non-fare Revenue

Recently, on the account of promoting new ideas and concepts for enhancements of Non-fare Revenue, also to improve passenger convenience on Indian Railways, Ministry of Railways has decided to start a "New, Innovative Non-Fare Revenue Ideas (NINFRIS)."

According to the reports from ANI, the introduced scheme will be used at a divisional level. The locus of the scheme will be on all new and innovative ideas. Along with this, it includes the concepts that have not been tested before and have the potential to enhance NFR earnings.

The highlights of the scheme will feature the Divisional Railway Managers to be provided with the full authority to execute the ideas and concepts for generation of NFR. On the post of Nodal Officer will be placed the Branch Officer of Commercial Department for the division of handling the proposals.

Along with these two, the committee will comprise of Branch Officers of Commercial, and Finance Department will scrutinise the received proposals and suggest to the DRM for permission.

The other features of the scheme include the precautions and the safeguards are that standards of sanitation, construction, fire-safety as prescribed under the Railway rules are not broken. The projects initiated should not be politically or religiously motivated. And that there should be the construction of no permanent structure.
