In West Bengal and Assam, traveling has never been easier or more beautiful thanks to the state-of-the-art Vistadome coaches. On Thursday, the Northeast Frontier Railway announced the beginning of Vistadome tourist special train services on two popular routes in Assam and West Bengal: Guwahati-New Haflong and New Jalpaiguri-Alipurduar Junction. This Saturday, the services will begin.
Timing and schedule:
Assam: Vistadome train service between Guwahati and New Haflong would run on Wednesdays and Saturdays for the first several months, with stops at Manderdisa and Maibong stations. The train will leave Guwahati at 6:35 a.m. and arrive in New Haflong at 11:55 a.m., traveling 269 kilometers via the North Cachar Hill area. During the return journey, the train will leave New Haflong at 5 pm to reach Guwahati at 10:45 pm
West Bengal: The Vistadome train between New Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar Junction will initially run three days a week, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The train will leave New Jalpaiguri at 7:20 a.m. and arrive at Alipurduar Junction at 1 p.m., covering a distance of 169 kilometers via north Bengal's Dooars Hill area. The train will depart Alipurduar Junction at 2 p.m. and arrive in New Jalpaiguri at 7 p.m. on the return route. Siliguri Junction, Sevok, New Mal Junction, Chalsa, Madarihat, Hasimara, and Raja Bhat Khawa are among the stations where the train will stop.
Tourists may enjoy the view of the open sky, mountains, tunnels, bridges, hills, and beautiful green woods from the Vistadome coaches, which feature enormous glass windows and glass roofs. It will also include viewing lounges where visitors can take in the sights. The coach's rotating chairs are meant to give additional comfort to the passengers. NFR general manager Anshul Gupta said, "The introduction of Vistadome trains is intended to assist travelers to appreciate the beautiful splendor of the region while also displaying the region's cultural history throughout the one-of-a-kind voyage." The customized trains will travel on the two lines because of the sector's enormous tourist potential, according to Gupta.
