AURANGABAD: Up to 200 Railway stations all throughout the country is expected makeover with contemporary amenities, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Monday.

The minister attended the foundation stone laying ceremony for a coach maintenance factory at the Aurangabad railway station in Maharashtra, where he said: "Physical work has started at 32 stations, and the tendering process for 47 railway stations is complete." He said that the railroads are changing. The government has created a master plan for the renovation of 200 railway stations. Overhead areas will be built on the stations, which will have top-notch amenities including waiting rooms, food courts, and kid-friendly amusement centres, he said. Selling of regional goods will take place on a "platform" at railroad stops.

when reporters asked about the contribution of the Marathwada region in Maharashtra to the production of Vande Bharat trains, the minister added, "The country will have 400 "Vande Bharat" trains in the future, and 100 of these trains would be constructed in the coach plant at Latur in Marathwaday."  The necessary alterations are already being made at the factory, he said, the government doesn't provide an explanation for why a project was approved based on the "Rate of Return." 

He said, all regions of the nation are currently connected by highways or trains as part of the PM Gati Shakti project, and Marathwada would also be connected to some extent. Ambadas Danve, the leader of the opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council, urged that the facility in Aurangabad, which can currently accommodate 18 coaches, be expanded to accommodate 24 coaches. Vaishnaw gave the go-ahead for them to consider Danve's demand and provide a proposal within the following 15 days. Raosaheb Danve, a Jalna MP and the State Minister for Railways,

said that the Central Government has approved Rs 11,000 crore for Maharashtra, up from Rs 1,100 crore previously.
Bhagwat Karad, the state minister for finance for the Union, urged that high-speed rail projects be built alongside the recently constructed Aurangabad-Pune Expressway Imtiaz Jaleel, a member of parliament from Aurangabad, urged that the ROR requirement be waived when projects for areas like Marathwada are approved.
