New Delhi: All preparations have been completed for starting the train service between India and Nepal. Prime Minister Modi and Nepal's PM Sher Bahadur Deuwa will start this train service on 02.04.2022 from New Delhi through video conferencing. East Central Railway's CPRO Virendra Kumar said that it has been decided to restore the passenger service on the newly converted Jaynagar-Janakpur/Kurtha rail line, for which GM Anupam Sharma has also inspected this section.

Let us tell you that the Jaynagar-Janakpur/Kurtha rail section is a part of the Jaynagar-Bijalpura-Bardibas (69.08 km) rail project in the first phase of the Jaynagar-Bijalpura-Bardibas rail project under construction between India and Nepal. The CPRO said that after the commencement of the rail service, Indian people travelling by train between India and Nepal will be required to carry an identity card for travel. It must be mentioned here that a passport is not required to go to Nepal. 

For this reason, out of the fixed identity cards, such as valid national passport, photo identity card issued by the Government of India / State Government / Union Territory Administration for its personnel, photo identity card issued by the Election Commission of India, Indian based in Nepal Emergency Certificate/Identity Certificate issued by Embassy/Consulate General of India, for persons above 65 years and below 15 years of age with photographic documents to prove their age and identity such as PAN Card, Driving License, CGHS card, ration card etc.
