Srinagar: In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, security forces have foiled a major terrorist conspiracy. It is reported that security forces recovered an IED on Rajouri Gurda Road on Saturday. Giving information about this, the police have told that the soldiers had found a suspicious thing on the side of the road. Investigation revealed the object to be an IED. At present, the investigation is going on in the matter.

Rajouri SSP Sheema Nabi Kasba has informed that the IED has been dismantled at a safe place. He said the police had recovered the IED on a tip-off about "suspicious activities" in Gurda Chawa village on Rajouri-Gurda Road. The police official said that special operation groups of the police and the Indian Army team had launched a search operation in the area on Saturday morning.

SSP further said, "The bomb squad of the police later took over their control to eliminate the IED on the basis of SOP. It was later destroyed in a safe place. Interestingly, an independent sarpanch was killed by militants a day earlier in Kashmir's Baramulla.'' The incident took place in the Goshbagh area of Patan where militants opened fire on Manzoor Ahmad Bangroo. He was declared dead in the hospital.
