Wellington: On Tuesday, life imprisonment has been sentenced to the Indian student, in the connection of killing his pregnant girlfriend in a furious knife attack in New Zealand.The man identified as Akash, killed the 22-year-old Gurpreet Kaur after she told him the baby was not his.

According to the Auckland high court judge Matthew Palmer, “the couple were secretly dating for 12 months but Akash, 24 years old, snapped on April 7 this year when Kaur told him the baby was not his and she wanted to end the relationship.”

And in an angry state, the man stabbed the victim 29 times and discarded her body in wayside bushes at south of Auckland.

“Not only did you murder Gurpreet Kaur and deprive her family of her existence, but you deprived her and her family of the potential of another life,” the judge added.
