New Delhi: Amid the deteriorating situation on the border between Ukraine and Russia, the process of evacuating Indians from Ukraine has begun. In view of the critical situation, 242 students from Ukraine were brought back home on Tuesday night by the first Air India flight. These Indians, who have returned to India, have also described the situation in Ukraine.

There are about 20,000 Indian citizens in Ukraine. The Government of India has urged all citizens to return to  India as soon as possible, most of the 242 students who have just come to India had gone to Ukraine to pursue medical studies. After returning home from Ukraine, many students felt that they had come here and got a new life. Tanvi, who has been studying medicine in Ukraine for the past two years, says that in the coming days, the situation in Ukraine is going to be very bad.

The situation in western Ukraine has not yet worsened as much as it has in eastern Ukraine. She says that there is a deployment of the Russian army on almost all the borders. A large number of Russian weapons and war tanks are kept on the borders. The 20-year-old, who went to Ukraine to study medicine from Delhi, says the situation is not at all normal there. She heard the sound of gunfire at night, which she was shocked to hear. She says that in Ukraine, police are patrolling from place to place. She says that keeping all these things in mind, she decided to return home. They are feeling extremely safe to come to India and now they feel like they have got a second life.
