Indian captain Salima Tete says that many youngsters who made their senior-level debut in the FIH Pro League 2022 are going to get the benefit of this experience in the Junior Women's World Cup. Akshata Abaco Dhekale, Deepika, Sangeeta Kumari and Bishnu Devi Kharibam made their debut in the senior team in the FIH Pro League. Salima has said that we played a practice match with the senior team which helped a lot. Many players of the team have also got the opportunity to make their debut in the FIH Hockey Pro League.

Salima has said that we have taken full advantage of it and have prepared. The practise sessions were also very good and all helped the team a lot in preparing. The Junior World Cup is scheduled to be played in Potchefstroom, South Africa from April 1. India is scheduled to play Wales in the first match on April 2.

Salima has said that as a captain, I will be available to every player in times of need. I would also like to make good combinations. The strategy is going to be worked out in association with senior players. My job is to take the team along. India is placed in Pool D along with Germany, Malaysia and Wales. India will take on Germany on April 3 and Malaysia on April 5.
