New Delhi: Indian women's cricket team player Anshula Rao has failed a dope test. The NADA (Nada) panel has banned her for 4 years. Anshula is the first Indian woman cricketer to be banned due to dope test. The decision comes after testing both samples of the cricketer. At the same time, Anshula will also have to bear the cost of about Rs 2 lakh in testing the B sample.

According to media reports, a panel of the National Anti-Doping Agency (Nada) has imposed a 4-year ban on the player. Anshula Rao, who has played various tournaments for MP, has been found guilty of taking banned substances to increase performance. She last played the Under-23 tournament in 2019-20. Last year she was suspended in March for taking banned substances. Anshula could not give correct information in the matter.

Two samples of Anshula Rao were sent to Belgium for testing. Banned substances were found in it. In her defence before the panel, Anshula Rao said that 4 months have passed between dope tests and allegations made by NADA. She also said that she was asked to pay 2400 euros (Rs 2 lakh) for testing B samples. It's unfair treatment of them.
