Earlier on September 8th 2022, the United Kingdom’s Monarch Her Majesty passed away at the age of 96 years.

The world prepares to say farewell to Queen Elizabeth II on Monday, the longest-serving monarch. The historic funeral will be attended by thousands of dignitaries and watched by millions of people worldwide.

People will hail and revere the chapter on the second Elizabethan age, a reign that was celebrated for 70 years and witnessed an era of radical change for Britain. Her Majesty, remained a hugely popular head of state who gave people both in Britain and abroad a valued sense of continuity and proved a powerful symbol of the country’s identity.

 Leaders and celebrities across the world expressed their condolences on the Queen’s death.

Indian writers Rachana Shah and Rhythm Wagholikar who have been awarded with the prestigious Mahatma Gandhi Samman at the House of Commons of The British Parliament, London for their dedication and contribution to worthy causes in keeping the flag of India high at the House of Commons London. They took to their social media and expressed grief over the passing of the Queen Elizabeth II.

 Their message read:

“ Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning modern monarch in British history,  passes away at the age of 96.

 In her long reign of 70 years, she faced many trials and tribulations and rose above these situations without disturbing the constitutional framework.

 Ushering in the new age of monarchy and maintaining the dignity of the crown are the highlights of her legacy. What an incredible and a truly celebrated life.

 We were privileged and honoured to have been awarded at the House of Commons, British Parliament during her reign!!

 The Queen rests in glory!! “

 Queen Elizabeth II came to the throne following the death of her father King George VI on Feb. 6, 1952, when she was just 25.
