Major achievement for India, 60 percent of country's adult population vaccinated

New Delhi: India has achieved a major milestone in the ongoing war against the Coronavirus amid the growing pace of Omicron. Corona vaccination of 60 percent of the adult population of the country has been completed, that is they have received both doses. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya himself informed in this regard on Thursday.

 

 

Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted, "New achievement, congratulations India. More than 60 percent of the eligible population has now been fully vaccinated due to public participation and dedicated efforts of our health workers. Health Ministry officials have informed that 89 percent of India's adult population has been given the first dose of vaccine. According to interim data up to 7 am, more than 139.70 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far with 70,17,671 doses of the vaccine being administered in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 6,960 patients have recovered from corona in the country in the last 24 hours. The active cases in the country, the corona patients treated, are also only 0.23 percent of the total cases. However, 236 cases of omicrons have also come to light in the country so far. Omicron has hit 16 States and Union Territories of the country and out of these 104 patients have also recovered.
