India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage surpasses 140.31 cr

New Delhi: India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has hit 140.31 Cr (1,40,31,63,063) as of 7 a.m. today, with 57,44,652 vaccine doses administered in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

This was accomplished through 1,48,79,511 sessions. According to the ministry, the recovery of 7,051 patients in the last 24 hours has brought the total number of recovered patients to 3,42,15,977 since the start of the epidemic.  According to the ministry, India's recovery rate is now at 98.40 percent, the highest since March 2020. The Centre and the States/UTs have been working together to keep the trend of less than 15,000 new cases being reported per day for the past 57 days.

In the previous 24 hours, 6,650 additional cases have been reported. India currently has 77,516 active cases. Active cases account for 0.22 percent of all positive cases in the country, the lowest level since March 2020. The testing capacity in the United States continues to grow. A total of 11,65,887 tests were performed in the last 24 hours. In total, India has done about 66.98 crore (66,98,09,816) tests.

While testing capacity has been increased across the country, the Weekly Positivity Rate has remained below 1 percent  for the past 40 days at 0.59 percent. The daily positive rate is 0.57 percent, the report showed. For the past 81 days, the daily positivity rate has been below 2 percent , and for the past 116 days, it has been below 3 percent.
