New Delhi: India has started commercial supply of Coronavirus vaccine in several countries including Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Brazil and Morocco last week. So far India has sent a consignment of Corona vaccine to Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Mauritius and Seychelles under grant-in-aid. The Ministry of External Affairs also stated that no request for corona vaccine has been received from Pakistan so far.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Anurag Shrivastava said in a press conference that no request has yet come from Pakistan for an India-made vaccine on G2G (government-to-government) or commercial basis. When he was asked that if Pakistan requests for the vaccine, then will India supply it? Srivastava refused to answer this question and said that it is very hypothetical at this stage right now.

India has commenced commercial export of Coronavirus vaccine since last Friday and has sent 2–2 million doses to both Brazil and Morocco. Earlier on Wednesday, the Government of India sent vaccine doses to neighbouring countries as grant-in-aid. 1.5 lakh were delivered to Bhutan on the first day and 1 lakh to the Maldives. A day later, 10 lakh doses were sent to Nepal and 20 lakh to Bangladesh. On Friday, 1.5 million doses of Corona vaccine were sent to Myanmar, one lakh doses to Mauritius and 50,000 doses to Seychelles.
