India's Nilotpal takes lead by defeating top seed Delgado in Gujarat International Chess

After the 8th round of the 3rd Gujarat International Grand Master Chess Tournament, India's Grand Master Nilotpal Das has reached a singles lead. In the 8th round, Nilotpal Das played with white pawns and defeated top seed Paraguay's Grand Master Neuris Delgado in just 27 moves in the Sicilian opening.

On the first board, the draw between Uzbekistan's Nigamtov Ortic and India's LR Srihari was a draw, while on the third board, India's Stanny GA defeated compatriot Vighanesh NR. Azerbaijan's Azar Mirzoev has lost to Abdislimov Abdimalik of Uzbekistan on board. In this 10-round tournament, after 8 rounds, India's Nilotpal is in first place with 7.5 points, while Abdimalik and Ortic of Uzbekistan on 7 points, Srihari LR and Stanny GA of India are still in joint second place.
