Sargam Koushal who has represented India on Beauty Pageant won the Mrs World 2022 title and brought back the crown home after a long wait of 21 years. Sargam defeated contestants from 63 countries to bag the prestigious title.  It is a very proud moment for India as it came after years.

The official pageant account also shares a video of Sargam with a caption, “The long wait is over, it's after 21 years we have the CROWN back!"  The video shows Sargam bursting into tears after she is declared the winner. For the final round, Koushal wore a pink centre slit glittery gown designed by Bhawna Rao and was mentored for the runway by pageant expert and model Alesia Raut. Sargam Koushal hails from Jammu and Kashmir. She won the Mrs India World 2022-23 in June this year, after which she represented India internationally.

 India’s last victory at Mrs World was in 2001 when Aditi Govitrikar won the title. Mrs World, which was established in 1984, is the first pageant for married women. It was earlier known as Mrs Woman of the World before being renamed Mrs World in 1988. More than 80 countries have entered the beauty pageant. America has produced the maximum number of winners.

Aditi Govitrikar also congratulated Mrs Koushal on the feat. She wrote, “Heartiest congratulations @sargam3 @mrsindiainc so happy to have been part of the journey.. it was time the crown came back after 21 years.” Various other people also showered love on Sargam after she win the prestigious title.
