India and the US enjoy a robust global strategic partnership that encompasses various domains, highlighting shared democratic values, aligned interests, and vibrant people-to-people ties, as emphasized by the Ministry of External Affairs.

In a significant display of this partnership, the bilateral Tri-Service Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Amphibious Exercise, Tiger Triumph 2024, concluded in March with a closing ceremony aboard the USS Somerset.

The exercise, which kicked off with the Harbour Phase in Visakhapatnam from March 18 to 25, witnessed a series of activities including discussions, expert exchanges, sports engagements, and cultural exchanges such as celebrating the festival of Holi together.

The Sea Phase, conducted from March 26 to 30, involved maritime exercises and troop landings at Kakinada, where joint command and control centers and relief camps were established for HADR operations.

Notable cross-deck helicopter operations were conducted between Indian Navy and US Navy ships, showcasing interoperability and cooperation between the two forces. The Indian Army and Air Force also actively participated in the exercise, demonstrating their commitment to joint operations and disaster relief efforts.
