The 51st director general-level border coordination conference between Border Security Force and Border Guard Bangladesh will be held here from Tuesday. This is for the first time that the biannual Director General (DG)-level talks between the Border Security Force (BSF) and its counterpart Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) is being held outside New Delhi. Several key issues relating to border management are to be taken up during the discussions in Guwahati.
The talks aims to discuss border-related issues and to enable better coordination between both the border guarding forces. Rakesh Asthana, director-general, BSF will led the BSF, while the BGB delegation will be headed by Major General Md Shafeenul Islam, director-general, BGB, during the five-day conference.
Ever since the biannual talks began in 1993, the talks were held in New Delhi or Dhaka. This is the first time that talks is going to be held in Guwahati. The Director-General level talks is being held to discuss border-related issues and enable better coordination both the border guarding forces.
