Due to heavy rains and floods, many areas in the capital were submerged and thousands of people became homeless. Officials said that about 1,92,000 people have been shifted to temporary camps.
Regarding this terrible situation, National Disaster Reduction Agency spokesman Agus Wibowo said that people whose houses are still submerged in water are being asked to go to safe places. The agency said that 43 people have been confirmed dead in Greater Jarkata and nearby Labak Regency. In many areas, the water level is decreasing and electricity supply is being restored.
