On Friday, a 6.7-magnitude earthquake struck Indonesia, causing severe vibrations in the country's capital Jakarta, but no tsunami warning was issued, according to the country's meteorological, climatology, and geophysics agency.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 hit 88 kilometres west of Labuan, Indonesia, at 09:05:42 GMT on Friday, according to the US Geological Survey.

The epicentre was initially placed at 6.9291 degrees south latitude and 105.2513 degrees east longitude, at a depth of 37.19 kilometres.
