ORISSA: Indore based dance Guru Dr. Ashish Pillai was awarded with Guru Brahma Award at Apsara 2022 dance festival. The dance festival was organised by cultural development foundation in association with Department of culture, Orissa. 

Dr Ashish Pillai gave his Bharatnatyam performance at the festival which was praised and well received. Apart from Pillai, his students, Purva Pande, Ishani Krishnan, Saanvi Padhye and Anisha were awarded Nritya Apsara Award as a recognition for being Bharatnatyam Varnam in raagam Lathangi in praise of Lord Shiva and Ishani Krishnan presented various krishna Leela on Murlidhara Kautuvam. Anisha Nigam and Saanvi Padhye presented kathak on Raas Taal followed by abhinaya on a chaturang depicting Krishna Ras leela in Vrindavan.

The three day dance fest saw the performance of dance gurus and their students from various parts of the country. Artist from Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Up, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Gujrat, Assam, West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu were in attendance and were honoured.
