Indore: More than two lakh people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in Indore district of Madhya Pradesh last Monday. In fact, it is the highest immunization record in a single day in districts across the country. Collector Manish Singh has recently informed about the same. He said the final immunization figure in the district on Monday could be between 2.25 and 2.50 lakh. Let me tell you all that Indore is the worst affected district in Madhya Pradesh due to corona epidemic. District Immunization Officer Praveen Jadia says that more than two lakh people were vaccinated on the first day (Monday) of the campaign for vaccination against Covid-19, the national record for highest vaccination in a single day in any district across the country.

On the other hand, Collector Manish Singh said that while registering information on the Covin portal about the people who came for vaccination, there were several technical hurdles, but the vaccination continued with the help of experts and officials sitting in the control room. He also informed that a large number of computer operators along with health workers were also arranged for the immunization campaign so that information about the vaccinators can be recorded on the Cowin portal at the earliest.

He further said that with the help of politicians and religious leaders, people were motivated to get vaccinated and villagers also showed great enthusiasm in getting epidemic prevention vaccines. Apart from him, immunization officer Jadia says the administration had set a target of vaccinating two lakh people in the district on Monday. To achieve this, 675 vaccination centres were set up where vaccines were administered from 8 am to 9 pm in a total of 1,140 sessions. At the same time, he said, about 1,200 health workers vaccinated people in the district and vaccines were distributed from 40 centres, while 120 doctors monitored the vaccination campaign.
