Andhra Pradesh: On Monday, the police officials in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh, found an abandoned infant boy on the railway tracks of the Vizianagaram district.
Inspector BS Rao of the Kothavalasa Circle stated, "On Monday morning at 6 a.m., an abandoned baby was found at the Kothavalasa Railway Station. A person noticed the infant in a bag on the train rails. We arrived at the location after obtaining word that it was a boy baby."
The case has been filed with the Andhra Police Department. "We filed a complaint under section 317 of the Indian Penal Code. The baby has been handed over to Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS). The baby was initially taken to a neighbouring hospital and inoculated”, police said.
Sunitha, the ICDS supervisor in Kothavalasa, stated that as soon as officials received information that an abandoned infant had been found on the tracks of a railway station, they came and took the child into custody. "They will look after the infant now that it has been inoculated," she stated.
