Swedan: In November, inflation in Sweden increased to 3.6 percent, up from 3.1 percent in October. According to Statistics Sweden, this is the country's highest inflation rate since 1993.

On Tuesday, Statistics Sweden statistician Mikael Nordin claimed that rising energy prices contributed to the highest inflation rate since December 1993. According to reports, the 3.6 percent inflation rate is calculated using the CPIF (Consumer Price Index with Fixed Interest). Package holidays, meals, non-alcoholic beverages, restaurant and hotel services have all seen significant price increases, according to Statistics Sweden. Meanwhile, dropping prices on mobile phones, as well as audio-visual and photographic equipment, helped to offset inflation.

The CPIF is the inflation target variable set by Sweden's central bank, the Riksbank, whose Executive Board found in its monetary policy meeting on November 24 that significant changes in worldwide demand had resulted in production bottlenecks. As a result, producer prices were rapidly rising.
