Mother Teresa, a Sister who became Mother of  helpless and sick people

Mother Teresa as also known as Saint Teresa, was a great patron of humanity and peace. She devoted her whole life in serving helpless and poor.

She was born on 26 August 1910 in Macedonia. Her birth name was Anjene Gonxhe Bojaxhiu. Her father died when she was just 8 years old. It is said that he was positioned by his political enemies At the age of 18, She left her home and joined sisters of Dublin and became a nun. She never met with her family members in her lifetime.

 She arrived India in 1964 and became Indian citizen At the age of 19 and from 1931-48 she taught catechism and St. Mary’s High School. In 1948, she moved to slums to begin her work to serve the poor and sick. She founded many charity organizations which include Missionary of Charity Brothers, the contemplative branch of sisters in 1976, etc.

In 1979, she received Noble Peace prize for her dedication towards poor and needy. She secured a place in the list of admirable women 18 times She has drawn criticism for opposition to contraception and abortion. Mother Teresa passed away on 5 September 1997 after teaching the real meaning of humanity to the world
