With the reduction in the number of corona infected people in India, the vaccination drive has started gaining momentum. Recently, PM Narendra Modi in his address to the nation on Monday evening announced free vaccination. Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday said he has set a target of vaccinating 3 lakh persons daily in the state, which is twice the dose currently being administered.
It may be noted that at present, 140,000 to 160,000 people are given vaccine supplements daily in Odisha. He also stressed the need to improve the paediatric health service ahead of the possible third wave of the corono infection epidemic. Talking about corona cases in the state, corona cases in Odisha are currently under control. The figure of infected people in the state is declining by 0.5-1 per cent daily.
The chief minister reviewed the situation in Corona in the state on Tuesday evening and asked the health department to set up a separate paediatric health wing for children in existing corona hospitals. In addition, all district hospitals and sub-divisional hospitals have been asked to fix 10 beds for separation of suspected pediatric corona cases. The Chief Minister said that at least 15 per cent of the 10,736 common beds, 4,072 ICU and HDU (High Dependency Unit) beds in Corona hospitals should be reserved for pediatric cases.
