JAPAN: The Ministry of Defence has proudly announced that INS Kadmatt, engaged in a long-range operational assignment across the North Pacific Ocean, has made port in Yokosuka, Japan, for an essential Operational Turnaround (OTR). This strategic move marks a significant milestone for the Indian Navy, coinciding with the forthcoming celebration of India's Navy Day amidst the Indian diaspora in Yokosuka on December 4.

Scheduled from December 2 to 5, the visit encompasses a series of meticulously planned activities onboard, aimed at fostering meaningful engagements. These initiatives include insightful onboard visits, fostering professional dialogues, and engaging in community welfare programs, as highlighted in the press release.

Among the pivotal events during the stay, interactions with the Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF) are paramount. These exchanges are slated to involve cross-ship visits, facilitating an exchange of expertise, a collaborative Joint Yoga Camp, and a pivotal coordination meeting aimed at fortifying the Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX). These engagements signify the collaborative efforts between the Indian Navy and the JMSDF, reinforcing the bond between the two maritime forces.

INS Kadmatt's arrival and subsequent activities in Yokosuka underscore the commitment to bolstering bilateral ties, fostering camaraderie, and sharing expertise and experiences in maritime operations between India and Japan.
