New Delhi: The strength of the Indian Navy is going to increase more than ever. The Scorpene submarine INS Karanj will be inducted into the Navy's fleet in Mumbai on 10 March. The submarine has been constructed at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited under the Make in India program. This is not the first time Mazagon Shipyard has handed over a submarine to the Indian Navy.

Even before this shipyard has provided the Khanderi, Kalvari Scorpene submarines to the Navy. According to the agreement with the Government of India, a total of 6 submarines are to be built in this shipyard. Of which, the trials of Vela and Wazir are underway, while the construction of the 6th submarine is going on. At the same time, talking about the power of INS Karanj, it has the power to destroy its target in a few seconds. This allows surface and underwater torpedoes and tube-launched anti-ship missiles to be fired.

In addition, this submarine has the power to carry out many missions such as Anti Submarine Warfare, Anti Surface Warfare, Mine Laying. Apart from this, many more features have been provided in INS Karanj which makes it modern.
