Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, introduced a new 'Collab' feature on Wednesday that allows users to collaborate on Feed Posts and Reels.

The new Collabs feature will allow two accounts to collaborate on a post or reel. The post or Reel will appear to everyone of the user's followers at the same time and will have the same comment thread, as well as view and like counts. "Today, we're introducing Collabs, a new way to collaborate on Feed articles and Reels. Invite an account to collaborate with you. Both names will show on the header, will be shared with both sets of followers, will be visible on both profile grids, and will share views, likes, and comments, according to the company in a tweet.

According to Instagram, collaboration is a significant part of how people join the social media site. "You may invite a collaborator to your Feed Post and Reels with 'Collab,' and they can share the material with their audience," the company famously said. Meanwhile, Facebook is experimenting with a feature that would allow users on its platform to cross-post their content, including photos and videos, to their Instagram accounts.

According to the company, the option is now a global test that is only available to a select number of users who have previously linked their Facebook profiles to a personal, creator, or business account on Instagram. Customers may currently cross-post their Instagram Stories and Reels to their Facebook pages.
