New Delhi: Instagram wants you not to stay online for long or spend too much time on the screen. In fact, the company has started testing a new feature called Take a Break keeping in mind the better health of its users. According to Adam Mosseri, the head of the company, the feature has been in demand for a long time. The Take a Break feature will remind users that they spent a long time on the platform.

This feature will inspire you to take a 10, 20 or 30-minute break from Instagram after spending a fixed time on Instagram, Mosseri said in a video posted on Twitter. Adam Mosseri has said that taking a break is expected to be more widely available in December.

Criticism of mental health: Reports suggest that the new feature comes amid condemnation that Instagram is harmful to its teenage users. Recently, U.S. Whistleblower Frances Hogan revealed that the famous social media app is having a wrong impact on teenagers' mental health.

Meanwhile, Facebook's Global Affairs Voice President Nick Clegg has said that the photo-sharing platform is about to introduce new features to remove bad content. Clegg has also said that we are going to present something that I think will make a lot of difference. Where our system sees that a teenager is constantly looking at the same content over and over again and its content that can tighten their well-being hassles, we'll inspire them to see other content.
