Students having diploma in subjects like engineering and technology will now be able to get easy admission in undergraduate engineering courses like BE or B.Tech from lateral entry. No technical institute will refuse to admit these students. The All India Council for Technical Education has tightened the rules already in place. Along with this, orders have been given to all the state governments and universities to implement it strictly.
Under the instructions of AICTE, currently all technical institutes have a provision for granting admission to diplomatic students through lateral entry in undergraduate courses like BE or B.Tech. Under this, these students can be admitted in direct second year, but most technical institutes refused to give admission to these students. Recently, AICTE has understood the problems of these students and has resolved them correctly. Under this, the rules of admission of lateral entry will now be required for every technical institute. These students will have to give admission on vacant seats.
Along with this, AICTE has also ordered all state governments and universities to give guidelines to ensure this in all the institutes under them. It is also said that if any institute refuses to accept it, strict action will also be taken against it. Along with this, the rules related to admission with lateral entry in BE and B.Tech have been cleared once again. With this, many further changes can be made.
